‘Typography Walks And Workshops For Font Fanciers’
By Matt, 28th February 2013
If you’re one of the large number of people who gets excited over fonts, letters and typography, take a look at this upcoming series of Type Tasting events. These workshops and events are run by Sarah Hyndman, and get participants experimenting with type.
Workshop: Kit type
Combining two simple shapes will give you the foundations to create your own unique alphabet. Take away your own type sampler at the end of the session. This is a playful, creative session which takes place without the aid of a computer.
Type Safari: Dalston
Spend an evening taking a guided walk through Dalston exploring the architectural and social history of the area through the type and signage to be found along the way. You’ll also be photographing a selection of the letters to create your own Dalston phrase or saying.
Workshop: How running makes me feel
An afternoon workshop about how running makes you feel, led by Sarah Hyndman. The participants brainstormed words and phrases about how running makes them feel. They then recreated the words in a way that visually represented what the word means.
