Typographic Time Machine #TimeType
Drop-in and get creative with letters at the V&A

Sat 17th and Sun 18th September, 11am-5pm
Free, drop in workshop, suitable for all ages
Design Studio, Learning Centre, Level 3, V&A, London SW7 2RL

Could you make a letter look like it is swaggering straight out of the Wild West of a century ago, or like it has travelled from the era of fairy tales and knights in shining armour, or like it has been beamed down from a space ship in the future?

Drop in and roll up your sleeves as you get creative playing with fonts and lettering customising a letter to recreate a moment in time: past, present or future. You are invited to add your completed letter to the display on the wall, which will grow throughout the weekend to create an exciting collection designed to transport viewers through time and typography.

What's Your Type?
Would you like to know more about choosing fonts?
What’s Your Type? workshops are exciting one-hour sessions with Why Fonts Matter author Sarah Hyndman. Sarah’s aim is to demystify typography and her sessions are jam-packed with games and experiments as she teaches about type and shares the message that typography is fun and accessible. You will go home with your own set of tasting notes to help you choose fonts (based on Sarah’s research results), and there will be spot prizes and giveaways.

This workshop is ideal for design students, designers who would like a fun refresher, and for the typographically curious.
