Hello it’s Natalie again! Here I am giving you another glimpse into the wild and wonderful things that I’ve been up to in the Type Tasting studio this week. If you’d like to find out how sixteen carefully wrapped parcels and a rather cheeky looking answer box are going to be involved in this weekend’s event, then carry on reading.
Today I’ve been helping to construct some of the games’ answer boxes, one of which looked very much like a familiar robot’s face until I horribly disfigured it with the help of some sandwich bags. These answer boxes will be used to collect all of the responses to the interactive games and perception experiments at the London Design Festival event over the weekend. I’ve been lucky enough to have an early attempt at a few of the games, and I’ve found the results really interesting. Not only do the games draw on a general societal expectation of the typefaces, but each participant’s own personal associations can often influence their choices, making it fascinating to find out what your typeface choice says about you in a variety of the games. I don’t want to give too much away, so if you want to find out more, come along to the event this weekend!
