‘Everybody’ by Lucy Parris
“I knew I wanted to create a piece where the typography works as an image in itself, so I wanted to illustrate my thoughts and feelings on my chosen word, ‘everybody’.”
“My intention was to create a drawing that captured unity amongst the characters illustrated which are based on real people of different cultures, nationalities and religions. I wanted to send a fun yet positive message through the drawing. I hope that everyone is able to relate to my illustrated word in some way.
“I drew out the final word in ink and although I did sketch out a plan of how I wanted it to look I decided to draw the final one freehand as I wanted to keep the energy and freshness through out.”
“The typeface is based on a font called ‘Bauhaus 93’ the reason I chose this was because it was very rounded, and I wanted it to be easy on the eye and easy to read, fun and nothing too serious.”
